If that doesn’t work, try to find where your icons live. Follow the same steps above but after “View,” select “Auto arrange icons.” Or they may have moved off your screen, which can happen to people using more than one monitor.
Then select “View” and make sure “Show desktop icons” is checked. To make them viewable again, use your mouse to right-click a blank area on your Windows desktop.
